a dumb question of someone who does not look much into foils - how far are foils against those AC72?

would be cool to be the fastest class around..

Not that close, the cats are doing 30kts uphill / 40 downhill. foilers approx 10kts off that pace.
That's at the cats max wind range. foilers would probably stand a chance in the 8-10 kt wind range.

Great footage! Haven't had time to watch it all, but the acceleration out of the windward mark at 1:36 in the video is just ridiculous! Is that Johnny?

Yup, a lot of people download at the windward mark. I tried looping when slightly powered but crashed badly. It's hard to stop yourself resisting the pull when you really need to just go with it.

Even on a raceboard, doing the downloop at the top mark is a hell of a test of ball size!

Specially when you're lit on a 10m!
