Moses Vorace Reviews?

Can anyone give a review of the Moses Vorace, especially relative to other racing foils you have ridden?

Very hard to ride, mini fins need a lots of speed, no anhedral. Never won any race yet.

What are you comparing it to? What else have you ridden?

Everything Hawaii has said could apply to the new spotz somehow I don't think the design is as flawed as you make out..

As for race wins being a real world measure for anyone reading this forum I don't think we should get hung up on it

After all aguera, alpinefoil, zeeko, carafino, etc haven't been smashing the front of the fleet and yet there are plenty of happy riders out there

I have ridden the VOrace a few times. The small foil does make liftoff speed a little high but no more than other high AR speed wing foils. Seems very pitch stable and surprisingly roll stable for not having any anhedral. Very fast straight line speed. Good pointing angles when well powered. Build quality is excellent. The stainless steel fuselage is heavy and adds weight/mass to the foil. During down wind crashes, the foil will maintain speed and usually run you over. Not a deal breaker but does require a little defensive technique.

I am 200lbs and would be better with slightly more wing area. I have ridden Sward, Lift, Spotz and DIY.

I am comparing it to the ones that I have ridden:
Rush Randle Aluminum foil
MHL lift 2013
Carafino 2008
Moses Vorace
Alpine 4.5
MHL 2014
And a dozen or so homemade foils

It is the hardest of all to ride.
It has Vorace as name, but doesn't seem to be competitive.
The major flaws are fins too small and lack of anhedral.
Build quality is good, I would replace the stainless fuselage with Titanium.
Just my humble opinion.

I am too old to do the high speed stuff, knee problem. I prefer free ride, 2008 Carafino.

I dont understand that ?

Smal wing, small fins - can be much harder to ride, but also much faster/less drag (generally speaking that is).

In lower wind, you need a bigger or more lifting foil for max vmg upwind though, which outweighs the downwind disadvantage (which might not be there as you can go deeper).

So the foil has to be set up to your weight and the conditions, in able to be fastest on a track.

Being easy or not, does not matter as much if you get a significant advantage - as it seems the best still manages to handle it

James says it very well - that most on this forum will not be able to find out if a foil is competitive, as there are very few riders who can.

If it's a drag race, the Vorace probably will do well.
If it's a slalom race the Vorace will suck.
