I saw the last formula races. I saw a few Moses foils laying around aside from the swords and spotz', didn't see any oracle triumphant arches though.

The chrono kite seemed to be the show stealer, another step in the arms race.

I was the photographer and was on the boat for the Sat and Sun races (and a local foiler). AFAIK the foils in competition were the Sword, Spotz, and Lift. No Carafinos. Moses foils were only in use by recreational local riders (the Silencio wave foil is the one of choice out here). I tried to demo the Carafino, but Mango was taking a while to get out into the water Friday and I couldn't wait for too long. Don't know of anyone who personally demoed the Carafino, but i'll do some research and see if i can find a vetted, solid opinion from a foil rider (we have about a dozen or so here)

Nico and the Heinekens were duking it out all day 123, same on course boards as well as the foils. The Chrono foil kite, though not the most user-friendly, is dominating the race circuit and seems to be the weapon of choice, even for those not on the Ozone team.

Does anyone know what the tent structure is in the background photo of the red foil above?

It looks like it is made like and inflatable kite.
How does it stand upto the wind?

GYBE tents. Likely some sailors/kiters involved!

Mr C set up right next to a kite school Socal Kite Surfing and it is their tent/tables. While I was there, Mr C was in and out Friday bouncing between family and demos. He was there most of the day Saturday with demos, but did not show up Sunday.

I don't think there is much to say about demos. A red race and blue performance were the two foils present and various individuals tried them out. Given they were new to everyone, I personally did not see any notable water time.

Edit: The Race board did look good and personally, if I could have paid money and walked away with a foil and board, I would have done so.

Perhaps its because anyone who even remotely questions how this guy goes about doing things is likely to start receiving death threats. Its all part of the Carafino "customer care" programme.

Apparently :-? :-? :-? :-?

A bit like the lifetime warranty for the product he is no longer making supporting :o :o :o :o :o :o
