AHD- AFS1: the hydrofoil without (visible) screws.

Postby Europ2 » Tue Jun 17, 2014 9:04 am

For fixing their horizontal planes, Kiteboard hydrofoils manufacturers have been using the same standards as the ones that inspired :
AIRCHAIR Wooley/Murphy Patent in 1990

1 to 4 screws for the front wing, 1 to 2 screws for the stabilizer (OK, the Aguera, Moses 2014 and Spotz 2014 are a bit different)

Unveiled during the Paris Boat show in dec. 2010, the mounting process of this AHD windsurf hydrofoil is worth looking at: no holes though (radial to) wings or fuselage = no weakness.

After 3+ years without being copied, a possible explanation could be that strong & adjusted composite hollow parts are more difficult to manufacture.
