Hi the other side of atlantic
I'm the happy owner of a nice Arrow from Thekitefoil.
I'm a good kitefoiler, quite experienced with my first foil Sword from taaroa (air jibe ok, a few air tack, average or good level in french championship)
I choosed the long fuselage and standard wings, mainly for kitefoil and speedcrossing competitions in France
The first feeling when discovering the Arrow after using the Sword is surprising because the equilibrium is quite different, but after a few minutes it's ok and the position is natural and confortable.
The Arrow is very stable, for an experienced kitefoiler it feel like a train on it's rail, but it is very fast so I won't recommend such a beast for beginners (see the Manta!)
The small tips add some maniability, but it's doesn't help for the air jibe because the foil is quite unstable when both foots are grouped on the center, so I have to learn to switch very fast to be confortable with air jibe (after a few sessions I manage 99% air jibe on flat water with small kite, but I still fall often on choppy water or with big kites in low wind)
It goes up quite early for such a performant foil, and tolerate slow speed, so it's a good foil for very light wind. The large board with volume help for waterstart and tack or jibe on water.
I'm still not confident enough to go faster than 25knots even if the Arrow can go much faster, but the board is controlable in case of soft landing at high speed, thats a good point for speedcrossing, I hope I will be soon up to 30knots.
Touching waves while pushing hard upwind is more delicate as the board as a strong tendency to bounce upwind, but I think I just need to learn new position and reflexes because the shape is very different from my old board.
On flat water upwind angle is very good.
So a very good foil for competition, or for the experienced kitefoiler who wants to go next level! I will make a more complete review when the french championship season start in may, please comment if you are racing with the Arrow!
