Foil Fun Tutorials

Postby Foilrider_503 » Thu Feb 12, 2015 6:27 pm

Hey Everyone I wanted to share a video I found on the Internet. Looks like LF is doing a foil instructional series and I thought it may help some of you guys get those magic carpet rides. Looking forward to seeing what they are going to keep releasing

Good one, although THAT size of the straps seem dangerously big so you can risk sliding into the straps and get stuck - but maybe just for the sake of understanding they have gone that/too far ?

I like the video, explaining some very important simple basic things that are NOT obvious when learning :thumb:

Really good tutorial! Best one I have seen so far.

The only note I think it's missing is to keep your weight in line with the mast, don't lean back on your heelside. That was my biggest issue.

Interesting. They advise beginners to wear a helmet, impact vest etc and in the video none of those.

I assume they are not beginners ?

Makes perfect sense to me :naughty:

IF you are learning, it wont take long till you know EXACTLY why you need a helmet and impact vest - OUCH I just say

This is one case where I think everybody knows quite well, that a helmet is what to start with - and most will do it.
It is more difficult with other sports, where it is not so easy to understand why you need a helmet  (untill too late maybe - but that is exactly the problem - not so here where you will know why a helmet is ideal)

+1 The lady in the video did seemed very graceful on her wipeouts :naughty:

My experience was more savage - my thighs were black & blue with bruises from wipeouts, so much so that I wore motorcross impact shorts, until I went through the miraculous moment when it all came together and it almost felt like I could ride all day without any issues :D
