Product search?

Postby revhed » Sat Mar 14, 2015 7:47 pm

I once saw some board strap screws that came from the factory with a pre-dipped I think air dry loctite.
As I change out wings often on the spot this looks like a great option, does anyone know what this is?
Most loctite, thread lock products are NON air dry and not really ment to diss and reasseble whereas this looks like it is made for just that.
I also saw a "non permant" on the spot "filler" used to flatten out your counter sunk wing attachment screw heads and holes.
It just makes sense after shaping and sanding to get an ultra smooth surface to have these places smooth as well.
Thanks, R H

Loctite from Henkel also comes in sticks where you just rub it on to the thread. It is not as efficient as the liquid form but ok for most purposes. It cures by the absences of air and is iron accelerated so if you are using stainless steel screws and insert it will take over a day to be effective.

Little secret. Your wifes or girlfriends nail polish works just as good as the blue loctite.

Thanks,
I already use finger nail polish as a ding water stop leak for boards on the spot so now will test it for thread lock, nice idea, thank you! :thumb:
I still wish I knew what the blue color air dry from the factory thread coating is, A friend just said he thought it was from Liquid force kite board straps screws from many years ago. Ideas?
As I build and rebuild R C helis a lot I know of and use blue 242 a lot, works great, but is not the air dry that I look for.
Ideas for easy to apply on the spot bolt, screw head and hole filler?
R H
