Mid 20kts some gusts lots of chop.
As I approached near planning speed and hit some larger chop the foil held the board up and skimmed the chop then sort of missed a couple. It was then that I felt the instinct to move feet out to take pressure of my ankles in controlling the board roll. Then this distraction had me belt into next chop kill speed and start again.
I did have a large number of catapults powering up and thought the drag on the foil was the reason and needed some adaptation of technique.

Hi 3InletsWindsports - curious as to if you have got more experience to share ?

You are the only one who have shared your experiences regarding how difficult/easy windfoiling is, for a kitefoiler.

Is it almost from scratch again with new muscle memory adaption, or can you use some of your gains from kitefoil ?

I will have to try it when spring comes, many friends here are windfoiling.

But if almost impossible, I might have to get (more likely make one from an old board) one myself, as I got the hydrofoil and the windsurf rigs.

Maybe other riders have tried or started windfoiling too, and can share ?

I haven't gone much further as I definitely need a wider board.
And the new Zeeko windfoil is not far away.
However having some experience with the kitefoil is a big help as you have more idea on what is about to happen when the foil takes over. In some respects having hold of the boom gives an added source of control over the foil

Two videos which explain some of the specifics about windfoiling.

From about 11:30 in this, Bruno Andre explains some of the design features and the way to think when windfoiling.

Sebastian Kornum explains why the Freeride boards are designed as they are and some of the technical differences for sailing powered up on a foil.

The 2017 windfoils are very soon going to be becoming available. It's probably going to be the start of windfoils becoming fairly common.

I tried it on may Android and it works. Very cool looking concept. I was wondering when someone would get around to a inflatable SUP hydrofoil and the mast track is icing on the cake. Thankfully it doesn't support a plate foil or else my credit card would be in trouble. What is the volume of this board?
