Yes with pleasure, this OR kite seems so promising ! I'll be there on 24-25 June, so we could switch kites and benefit from your higher experience on a foil; you said that the 10m weight is approx 2.74 kg right ? If The one is actually 9.0m, Solo is indeed closer to a 10m actually. We could pump them and compare their projected area on the ground.
My question now is to be a bit over-powered with the Solo.

Bingo ... LF solo tested and it is unfortunatelly as per prediction : too powered for me in hydrofoil. Differences with the airush one :
- better intake valve : filling up to 10 psi is very rapid and easy
- more reinforcements so seems less fragile.
- requires more wind to fly at the zenith compared to the one (but still less than my 3 strut rally)
- much more power
- much less agility
- depower is similar but it is harder to make it turn when depowered
- consequence is that when full depowered it tends to go toward the watersurface more rapidly and it is harder to reroute or counterbalance (need to sheet-in significantly)
- less upper range due to approx 0,8m2 added area.
- generate more speed and upwind abilities if speed is maintained.
- harder to loop in downwind when lines get slack.

Conclusion :
- i do not recommend it for light riders on a HF, due to small range between good flight and over power (indeed below the 10 knots where the one works already, i prefer using a foilkite for relaunchability)
- for heavier riders it could be an option
- i used it with TT on upper range (25-30 knots) and i never rode so fast ... so for a freeride directionnal board it should pull very fast and efficiently.

... I prefer the One for my use :D

Has anybody weighed their 13.5m2 or 17m2 Clouds, kite only with bridles ?
Does not matter if a bit of sand and salt on them, that is normal when weighing ones kites so you know it is the max weight :naughty:

Just to get an objective measurement :thumb:

Searched and havent found the weights, by users, yet ?

The lighter, the less durable (if reasonable construction), but better for hanging in lulls so always a compromise.

Haven't weighed them, but they are the lightest and smallest packages kites I own.

These weights are genuine. I was curious myself, so weighed them on a kitchen scale and they actually came in slightly lighter:

3.5m = 1.09 kg
5.5m = 1.26 kg
8.5m = 1.69 kg
13.5m = 2.22 kg

At the time only the 2 smaller sizes had been used.

Lighter can be less durable if the weight is there for durability. So rubbing strips add to durability (if in the right places) and a lightweight bladder is arguably more prone to leaking. The Clouds don't use a lightweight bladder etc, as Greg seems to use durable materials and reduces the weight by minimalist design.

5.8 lbs = 2.63 kg. ref the 17m C2, and the Average Joe's weighing of their 17m C2 on delivery was 2.74kg.

That means they are almost as lightweight, or even more lightweight than some race and free ride foilkites!!!

My Flysurfer Speed 5 12m with bridles brings 2700grams on the scale!
Probably more powerful than the C.5 13,5m2. But also a bit heavier. It mathes the 17,0m with pure weight!

Interesting, and a pity there is no reasonable exchange rate for European customers? Or do they ship from China as well directly to Europe?

theres a note on the BRM site saying they will only ship to USA. Maybe Greg anticipates Donald Trump's wall will make it too hard - either way its bad news for us Brits - anyone fancy "bringing in a couple of "keys" dont touch my bag if you please mr customs man" Apologies to Arlo Guthrie!
