And the chinook Tuttle is probably deeper to accommodate more brands of fins so they don't top out and not mate properly with the taper.
So really a std Tuttle.
And from my experience std Tuttle heads fit fine in deep Tuttle boxes. You just need correct length bolts. 6mm or 1/4 whitworth.
It seems that Tuttle (Std Medium and Deep) are using 6mm screws.
Maybe it is Horue that uses 7mm as the only ones - I will note that in next update, and have the medium Chinook listed, and the Gong.

But no, they are not all a Std Tuttle in the Chinook, Spotz and Axis uses the "Medium" Tuttle that fits in depth (58-59mm head versus 49-50mm on the Std).

Maybe the Chinook version is the Std. And the smaller ones are in fact shallow Tuttle boxes.

Ha haa, ohe could think so - but no, the Chinook is in between, as Larry Tuttle made the Std and Deep Tuttle long ago.
The box/head depth is chosen directly based upon the windsurf fin length - thus when the way bigger fins came into windsurfing in the 90s, the Chinook became popular amongst many slalom boards with big fins, and even a Tuttle box deeper than the deep exists for the 73cm Formula board fins :naughty:

I will update the pics later today, and also update both the last post and the very first - so if one wants to "find the overview" again, you can just look at the very first post of this thread too :thumb:

Hi Frank, still a very helpful topic

I found something not described yet and would be very interested in the measurements, it looks 99,9 % clear that this is not a probox but an elongated k-f box but elongated how long and on which side is the question:

deep k-f box

It is very strange that f-one seems to be the only one who use it on their long carbon struts, but uses for their boards more and more rails or even deep tuttle boxes :(
(Added: Also "Manta Foils" seems to have used it for a short while)

This does all not make too much sense to me, but maybe a sign f-one doesn't trust its on (deep) k-f box system anymore?

For me the only reason for a deep k-f box system could be, that all other boxes could fit inside with an adaptor, if you make an elongated deep k-f box which also allows different positions ... and if normal k-f box would fit diretly but with all that mess, who knows ...

Oh and we also seem to have a "Mini-Probox box" from TAAROA who seems to have decided as now Probox is pretty much used by surf foils, that we no need a Nr. 7 box as k-f box or tuttle seems not possible for them, so we now have:

3 x different tuttle boxes
2 x different k-f boxes
2 x different probox

Where two differnt box sizes would have been more than enough, Thanks to the kite foil industry, great job

All the Naish board comes with tracks. On the skinny boards, the aluminum tracks are slightly less deep, but all boards come with the correct hardware.
I think the tracks are 10” US Boxes.

On the foil, they have a standard plate. but sell both Tuttle and deep Tuttle that you can use on the mast. New of the year is also the abracadabra system that makes it way easier to mount and unmount the foil and to keep the foil mounted consistently at the same spot on the board.

Does anyone know of a short track box option? Maybe 3" or 4" long? Looking to have a foil track mounted aft to an existing track on a board. I seem to remeber seeing a pic of one on this forum but can't seem to find it. Thanks in advance!
