Postby plummet » Tue Dec 20, 2016 9:03 pm

Currently i'm
<12knots - 12 chrono
12-22 knots - 7 rebel can hold to higher winds if needed
22-30knots - 6 reo.

needs something smaller for 30+

In order of most to least used on a foil:

Best Cabo 6m (probably about 15 - 25 knots)
BRM cloud 12m (probably about 10-15 knots)
Best Cabo 8m (medium wind)
BRM cloud 9m (medium wind)

I use the 6m by far the most. The 8 and 9 see limited use on hydrofoil, more on a surfboard, I probably don't need them both. I recently got a 4m reo for 20+ knots, but have only used it with a surfboard so far.

I'm pretty light (under 70 kg), suck at foiling (limited toe-side, can't switch feet reliably), and I am strongly biased towards small kites (so I'm inclined to struggle on the 6m when I probably should be on 8 or 9).

Does not make sense to write size and wind ranges without stating your weight ?

4m Ozone Enduro might be a good choice, at least it is mine.

My current quiver with estimated windranges I currently use them the most (but not only):
9m Ozone R1 <15kts (19m and 14m lines)
7m Ozone R1 13-20kts (14m lines)
6m Ozone R1 15-25kts (14m, 12m and 10m lines)
6m Ozone Enduro 20-30kts (14m and 12m lines)
4m Ozone Enduro 30-45kts (14m lines)

I am 85kg.

Cheers,
Frank

Oh yes state how many pies you have consumed. I've consumed 76 metric pies!

My quiver:

12m Concept Air Pulsion: 6 - 11mph
13.5 Cloud: 8 - 13mph (with variable 20m or 30m lines)
8.5 Cloud: 14 - 20mph (Approaching nirvana)
5.5 Cloud: 18 - 27mph (Complete nirvana)

And one more.

A tiny 3.5 toy-like Cloud: 23 - 45mph. :)

Apart from getting up initially, I am not sure weight is that big a deal.

I am 100kg dry

12m sst 10-14 k
9m gts4 13-17 k
7m gts4 15-22k

22m lines all

and flirting with the idea of a 15m when its a steady 9-10 knots, hot tropical winds...

88 kg
