Moses T60 or Comet board, what t choose?

Postby happywizz » Tue May 30, 2017 5:39 pm

Hi all

I like some advice about choosing a Moses Board.
Currently I am using the Moses T40 but I like to buy something different. So I am thinking about buying the Comet board, why? I like the looks and it seems to me the perfect combination of volume, weight and less problem with waves. Where I foil (The Hague, Netherlands) it can be quite choppy and with my T40 combined with the Fluente it can be hard sometimes.
A few times I have tried now the T60 with Vorace competition and I have to say it was perfect. With the longer mast choppy waves dont matter anymore, super super stable and still agile enough to have fun. So as I am quite sure I will get the Vorace comp I am scratching my head about which board to choose to combine it with. The T60 has more volume than the T40, so less dipping as I do my touch down transitions (I know, I am a moderate novice) but I am wondering if the Comet is quite similar to the T60 or is it a differnt world? Only for high end racers? Which I am certainly not. I am only aspiring to look like a racer for people watching in awe at the beach.
Any help to make my choice easier is appreciated.
Cheers

Hi,

The Comet board is quite different, narrower and quite a bit lighter. But it is not much harder to ride, of course it prefers to be in the air and faster touchdowns, but it sounds like you would be ready for it.
If it appeals to you, go for it.
As you tested and like the T60 this is a good option too obviously.
Sounds to me that you can not go wrong, either or.

By the way, shortly there will be a new glass version of the T60 next to the current Carbon version. Another economic option of this modern shape, priced in the middle between T40 and T60 Carbon.

Hope this helps a little.

Cheers Frank

Hi Frank,

Thx for the info. Good to know that the Comet is not too difficult to use.
Cheers, from another Frank

I have wandered about the T60 and comet boards myself .
I noticed that the comet board doesn't have the same black Grip on the top deck as the T40/60, is it a rougher surface as I don't use footstraps and wanted to make sure it'd be ok to ride strapless !

Cheers

I like that painted grip surface (what is the correct term?) of the Comet with boots. It gives a very direct feeling. Not sure how it is without boots, but seen a few racers riding it without boots, just can not report about own experiences. Guess it is mostly a matter of getting used too and/or personal preferences.
