What's the newest trend in equipment. Do Ozone, Flysurfer and Fone still dominate the kite scene? Are wings getting flatter? Is the front wing/fuselage one piece assembly becomming more common? Are masts getting longer or is 1 meter still OK? What else?
My understanding of trends:
Kites: Olly Bridge was really fast on the flysurfer sonic pro race in mexico, but he isn't racing this week in France. I've heard the R1v2 was better than the Diablo V2 from people who rode both extensively. Now r1v3 is out, but haven't heard about it.
Foils: Wings are definitely flatter and bigger now. Most have the front wing and fuselage as one piece. All the new foils are more stable. Some struts have moved back on the fuselage to add stability, so rear tuttle bolt is under the rear footstrap.
Longer struts: I don't know that everyone has gone to longer struts. I think the Levitaz guys are definitely on that 110 cm prepreg strut, but not sure about the others.
Overall, the new stuff (kites and foils) are easier to ride. I thought when things got more race specific they would get harder to ride, but every time I try a new kite or foil, it's faster and more stable.
