Small fraying carbon ding

Postby kas911 » Mon Jun 05, 2017 7:47 am

Ok already made a small ding on the LE of my stabilizer. The fibers are fraying a little bit. Should I just add epoxy and sand it down? I have a vakuum machine if that makes any difference :-)

i used solarez epoxy and cling film and was impressed with the results, very little sanding required

Thanks. Did you just lay the film out on top of the epoxy?

sorry for the delay! Yeah I just used a small amount of resin as, like your scratches, they weren't that deep. Then put cling film over it, mould it as best you can through the cling film to the shape of the leading edge then expose to the sun if you are using solarez. Sand lightly, if you get too carried away sanding you can create a lip and then the solarez can peel away.
