I hit some under water rock on my G10 wing.

There are a couple of notch maybe 2mm deep. It's right on the wing edge. Doesn't seem to impact performance or at least I don't feel it at my noob level.

Do I need to fix it?

Is it straightforward to fix?
Epoxy + sanding? Do I need some paper to hold epoxy in place, some people talk about cling film do they mean to squirt some epoxy and simply wrap wing in kitchen grade plastic wrap? then sand?

What epoxy to buy? small tube of solarez?

This method was incredibly easy and worked very well for me: https://youtu.be/YsN-2T7zMLM

Is there any type of core in the wing? If not the scratches aren't really a problem. If you can't feel any performance difference then you don't really need to fix it. Edit: never mind, can't have core in g10

Ok thanks, so you are saying since there is no core there is no issue with water infiltration damaging core?

So the small notch won't create turbulent water when I go 100MPH  8)

I guess I will keep it as is until my level improve ;)

The Zeeko Green and white is not a G10 wing, unless you are using the Carver wing with it.

It probably does have a core.

Indeed! thanks a lot for pointing that out. UPDATING thread title.
The wings are made of pre-preg fiberglass with a modern method for molding allowing an unprecedented rigidity and an unmatched assembling precision.
I guess I will go to west marine and get some epoxy.

Should I get the standard West epoxy like that one and mix with the fairing filler that's easy to sand?

Or something like that?

Just use any epoxy. It is just a filler.

Here is my poor attempt at doing it.
That should be enough but not pretty. Didnt really recover the shape, some material flowed out, i guess I should have made paste thicker or use the tape method?

Have dinged a zeeko wing pretty much like that. Used a bit of west system and light density filler. Enough to make the consistency of peanut butter. Just spread it in and let dry. No masking. Sand easily and you can match the outlines well. A shot of white paint and it's hard to find the repair.

Sorry this info is a bit too late.

Thanks, I didnt put enough of the peanut butter thing in there, was more like like warm Nutella ;)

Spray paint?

I guess I'll wait for next time I hit foil and try to do a better job.

Yeah, spray paint. Small bonus of white wings, their easy to colour match.

You give that a bit of minimal sanding you can do it again and get it back to looking new. Make the paste thick, no run consistency and it's easy to spread into the ding with little excess and even easier to sand.
