Just to get this back on track. This is all I have as of yet. The seller is gluing the mast plate on the mast strut. Still waiting for it to leave china stuck in customs. Looks like they took care when gluing instead of slopping it together like i would problably do as I have no experience with composites

Did anyone find a company making Takuma clones for $300+ shipping? The only one I found its $430+shipping (for a single order, cheaper for bulk)

Rad that is the right company. There is no Takuma for $300 that was a carbon foil. You have to buy 10 Takumas do get the best price - I have just done this.

just got the same takuma clone as Jz perth....$438US plus plus. It looks solid. Haven't mounted it yet but stoked to give it a go.
Also stoked that he listed it as value $50 for customs, which saved me another $100 or so in taxes, etc. He told me that the bulk purchase now down to 5, would have been $338.

Thanks for your help/advice James, I probably wouldn't have chanced alibaba without a first hand positive report. Showing it off to a buddy who is going the DIY route for a sup foil, pretty much caused a stop-work order ... save the $ for materials and get one of these instead. If it works well and is fun to use, I suspect a bulk order may be next, as suddenly people at the beach are intrigued. Now to get it mounted and in the water. I am stoked to try it, though not completely looking forward to the learning curve ... as being leashed to a sup in waves is bad enough, much less with this big sharp thing attached.

Mmm i can’t SUP to save myself but Gunnar (gmb) can. Maybe drop him a line. I’m pretty sure a leash is not a great idea when learning to sup foil.
Can you get behind a boat and learn to foil on flat water before riding a wave ?
