I'd expect Moses to start selling leftovers of 548/550 wings ...
I do not think this is correct, wings are getting produced on demand and not to put them on the shelf.
The visual design also changed now for 2018, also for these wings. And I already received them in the new look.
By the way, the 558 is also a 2017 design. New now are only the 590 and the 637/420.

Anyways, understand where you are coming from with what you are saying, but got a different opinion.
No problem, just saying.

Cheers,
Frank

Moses told me I can put the Onda wings/Fuselage onto a Fluente mast. But nothing on how it flys with a kite.
I was told by Moses that it would "work very well in low wind range". Now only to figure out whether to get a 683 or 633 wing (and fuselage, and stabilizer) :)
I'm pretty sure I should use surf fuselage due to mast position.

Hi Frank, what about the new Comet mast, is it the same as 2017 in profile and thickness but now with a hardcore and new paint job?

I believe so, new construction same shape. Do not have a 2017 left here to measure myself though.

Very nice, smooth wing. Not as lowend as 548, more stable at speed but not an advanced race wing either. I like it a lot!
Is it by chance a spin-off of 2016 560 wing?

Frank, dealers like you who review gear and fill in gaps in details/descriptions bring huge value, stoke the riders and push sales for the manufacturer.
Thanks for all your feedback!

I agree, but same for the 550 :)
Personally I felt I could never utilize the 548 for my needs that much.
But as we have read in this thread before others love it and I got a few customers and friends that use it as their main wing as well, even though they also own other wings.
The 590 I like a lot so far though. But not saying people should replace their 548s for it.
So in the end of the day a lot comes down to personal preferences.

660 = 560 ?!
Yes, the 558 is just a slightly changed 560.
The 560 was my main wing in 2016.

Cheers,
Frank

I might be wrong about phasing out 548/550. After all, as you said the 2016 560 became 2017 558 (and 545 for Slingshot) and is still available third year in a row. Just too many might be a bit confusing. And whatever is least popular of somewhat redundant wings and doesn't sell well anymore will probably be phased out naturally.

So did it go like below for Moses wings?

2016 line: the 560 wing is a great freeride wing, stable, not a race one, easier to ride
2017 line: the new 550 wing is even slower (than 558) freeride wing, earlier take-off, a bit more front foot push (than 558) at speed
2017 line: but the new 548 is even more slower freeride wing, better for heavier riders or allows to ride "one kite size down", the earliest take-off, a way more front foot push at speed

Who would be target market for 548 wing, but not for 590 in your opinion?

Wo hoo!
As expected my 2018 - 101 mast and 590 wing, and new fuse arrive Friday morning.
Can't wait to fly out to Flag Beach next week as the weather over here is horrible from tomorrow, snow all day on Saturday, frezzing gales, not ideal !
Even today hailstones were hammering down a few hours ago.

What's your current foil setup?
What are your expectations of 590?
