Thanks foil. I'm 78-80 kg. So wonder what that means for the 590.
Interesting that you needed to move your feet back. That indicates it's not trying to fly up with excessive lift.
When I ride the 548, if find myself struggling to keep the foil down when at cruising speed, overtaking windwaves, kite lifting me. I've not found it significantly slower or having lowest speed compared to the 550.
Granted I'm not anyway near Frank's level, but it sounds like you and I are around same level.
Interested to hear about HL 12 from you.
Cheers. Tom

Foil, have you found that the 590 is as nimble and carves as well as a 548 or is 590 a bit more of a straight line riding wing?

Good question and I don't want to guess from fading memory as it was 2 weeks ago when last used, the weather here in the UK has been awful, and will be up till my next holiday starting the 10th January, so no sailing until the 11th.
I am curious myself now you mention this as the 548 and 550 are very nimble and free carving, even to the point of cutting down the face and back over small waves or swell,
I did not compare this against the 590 wing, but will do on holiday in 2weeks.

Well, I went ahead and ordered a 590 wing for my 2016 fluente set up. I'll take to Cabarete in February

You’d need to be able to place a foot behind the rearmost bolt. 5-10” I’d say depending how much space you’d like behind you rear foot for a kicker.
Note that the longer the mast is the more it is swept back too so it also affects wing position relative to your feet

It's 250mm.
But, you can go to 180mm if you are going strapless.

Foil - any word on the nimbleness testing 590 vs. 548?
