I do (as you can see on the picture)

If you just ride in more and more challenging conditions, it will come naturally over time - at first you will have difficulties conquering the white wash and dumping waves, where you even when good might fail - but over time you will get better and better at this, strapless, and you can ride more relaxed in crazy winds and waves, although also an adrenaline kick when blasting down a huge wave at max speed and see if you can manage or not

Thanks, Peter.

I figured, that I just need to go out and get my ass handed to me a bunch more times by Mother Nature while I get things sorted out.

Learning to ride in “normal” foiling conditions was the same experience, so I shouldn’t be surprised that learning to ride in larger waves and swell will be incremental and slow as well.

You really get to know how the water is moving at, and just below, the surface, when the conditions get lumpy.

Hi Plummet,
Is it a 4mt or a 2.5mt UNO and what conditions was on then picture? I ride Ketos FW Wave XL and I also own UNO 2.5 since 1 month but untill now I never had chance to try the UNO. What about your low end with the UNO? What about stability in high wind due to the monostrut? Thanx!!!

4m uno. The photo is in 35-45 knots. I could ride around but was too powered for down the line wave riding. I came in and jumped on the mutant and carried on kiting with the 4m.
But end is sub 20. But its pretty boring sub 25. I think the sweet zone is 25-30 with down the line wave riding on the foil being best 25-30 knots.

Stability is fine in high winds. But I can overload and deform the canopy around the 40 knots mark. Pump it hard and be precise on the water start and its all good. If you depower on the trim strap and let the bar out all the way it gets a bit flappy +40 knots. If you have the canopy taught like you should its solid as.

Wow, You would be powered to all hell on a 7m edge in 32 knots on a foil wouldn't you? I bet there was some whiplash inducing speeds going on if you crashed.
It was actually the perfect amount of power for racing. Definitely some strong gusts that sucked going upwind, but downwind with the swell I could have carried more kite.

Nico Parlier and a bunch of other top guys were riding 9m foil kites but were right on the edge of overpowered for the conditions. Where we were racing was a little sheltered by a large headland, but you had to ride over a mile from the beach to get to the course, which was when the wind was really vicious. Overall, probably the most fun I've had in a high wind regatta situation, rain squalls and all.

I think Davesails07 was riding an 8m Edge in those conditions and did just fine.
