Taaroa introduced the Sword RS and then...silence. Rumors made it sound like it missed the mark. No pun intended. I personally never saw a single one and had no one to ask about it.
Haven't heard anything official about new products lately. The Sword2 is still a great (IMHO) freeride foil, but should those of us considering an upgrade be looking at an entirely new system?

I have a friend with one and he considers it a pretty minor upgrade over the Sword2 with race wings. He also mentioned some ventilation issues that he was trying to fix on the strut but a lot of that can be sanded out.

I own a Taaroa Sword RS and Sword2. The RS is a very nice foil with much better performance. It comes with a 110cm mast and has better upwind performance than the Sword2, especially in the light wind. Taaroa will release a titanium fuselage that will improve performance and transportability of the foil. The RS board is great too. Very light. The Sword2 with the racwing 2016 is still very fun to use. Especially in the swell as it turns very fast. 2 great products.

Got the RS upgraded from Sword 2 with newest race wings. The foil is a little faster upwind, rolls with a little less input and is better downwind. New fuselage is coming which should address inconsistencies when really pushing. It is better than the Sword 2. Have not heard about any breaking except for a board, but that might have been crashed into something hard. The deck of the board is a little more prone to heel dents than the other boards I have had but still holds up well. 110 cm mast is really nice for racing definitely something that is hard to go back from.
