QR Lever for a foil plate?

Postby norcom » Fri Dec 01, 2017 4:32 pm

Anyone using a QR lever for a foil? I found this setup from NSI but it's not compatible with any of my foils and it's a bit pricey

I was mostly thinking of trying some bicycle type QR levers. Seems there are plenty for the M6 T-nuts but I haven't seen one for a M8 size.

That plate qr pin idea is cool but looks so draggy and heavy.
If you want to lock a mast into a board solidly and quickly 1000’s of times without fail, the design should probably be inspired by firearms rather than bikes.
Perhaps this could be done with composites with metal bearing surfaces to keep the weight under control. Not sure about that.
Take a look at how double barrel shotguns break down to see what I mean if this is not clear.
Cost/machining time could be a stumbling block.

KF box with one screw is pretty good, simple and doesn’t weigh too much.

And made even better with the use of quality TORX screws, bolts and tightened with a good quality tool!
