AVS: Anti Ventilation skin By Zeeko

Hydrofoil wing ventilation occurs violently when air enters the surface of your foil wing as it approaches the surface of the water. This results in an inevitable fall, whether you are an expert or a beginner.
The Anti Ventilation Skin (AVS) is a new process for manufacturing foil wings in G10. Thanks to a 3-dimensional grooving design of the foil wings, it is now possible to reduce the ventilation phenomena to a minimum. The AVS acts like a multitude of fences or a shark skin preventing the air from rushing all along the wing.
Thanks to the AVS do not fall any more when your foil wing is close to the surface of the water. Gain confidence and ride without thinking.

WOW!
That will take away a lot of my fear riding steeper waves.
Increased comfort will add 3-5 knots to my max speed as well.
Well done, ZEEKO.
How much drag it costs?
Does it works at any speed?
Will you apply if for Spitfire wings?

Wonder if a few brushes from LE to TE with some course grit sand paper might do.

I already have. It’s in a resealable bottle. Less than 100ml for travel easy to apply etc. etc. blah blah

Just send 150 euro

The 2018 windfoil is supplied with AVS.

At about 54 seconds, Nicolas seems to be gybing with the foil very near the surface.

Dear Tadeusz,

yes it works at any speed, but at 20knots of speed you feel it more than at 15knots.
About the drag, I did not notice any increase of drag when we test head to head wings with Avs and wings without

We are applying it progressively and it depends on our suppliers. I assume we will apply it for sure on the spitfire wings later in the year with the new models.

We are producing now XXLW spitfire wings limited edition for using with a surfboard or a SUP board on waves. More news later

AVS is explained below:

Hahah! Nice to use a plastidip on wings!! I thought about it a long time ago, never tried!!!

For Ronnie, the last video is the one below. :D

You can see clearly an AVS appliance at 0:54 when the front wing is close to the water limit during the jibe. I felt nothing and finished the jibe same as if I had no ventilation. To see it, you need a computer screen not a cellphone to watch the video :thumb:

Also with a kitefoil, now it is a game to ride as long as possible with the front wing partially off the water, love that game

Ronnie always updated!!!! :D

ride easy

Thanks for the information Nicolas. Since the first Spitfire was announced, I knew my ideal foil would be a large carbon Spitfire windfoil. Not there yet - but it's all looking good for the future!

Did your development work with the Canard foil (front wing?) lead to the knowledge of how to create the AVS?
