Heading to Cayo Guillermo in a few weeks. Wondering if anyone can advise on depth of water after the hurricane, should I bring a short or full length mast? Staying at the Coji but likely foiling in front of the Iberostar

No change but you may have to negotiate with the kite police. That section of beach is not authorized for kiting and they were sort of enforcing that when we were there.

I stayed at the iberostar a few years ago and I had no problem launching off the far east end of the resort but I would like to go back this winter for a few weeks to foil board , is it not possible to launch and kite in front of the resort anymore ? Thanks

@Laughingman what do you mean by
No change but you may have to negotiate with the kite police. That section of beach is not authorized for kiting and they were sort of enforcing that when we were there.
That you can not kite from the Cojimar now called Cerco Hotel, or that foiling is not allowed?

Just returned from an awesome week in Cayo Guillermo and I am Happy to say that foiling is alive and well. A full length mast is doable at low tide but a 24” mast allows you to cover more area without worry. Still think the Serchotel is the best place to stay, near the kite school for quick access to deep water but close to your units for gear switching. The kite bandits didn’t bother us for the 25 cuc fee thankyou very much.
I’ll definitely go back
