Blaster kitefoil by Zeeko (AVS)

Postby andre_oner » Thu Mar 22, 2018 1:28 pm

Hi All,

We proudly present our new kitefoil: BLASTER. A highly accessible hydrofoil perfect for beginners because of its ease and sturdiness, but also for the more experienced looking for fun and good sensations.
This foil has been developed for maximum stability, a low take-off speed and low speed riding, allowing you to progress calmly.

Thank you. It works even better than it looks ;)
Sure you can use a Spitfire mast with the BLASTER.
We only don't recommend to use a BLASTER mast with a Spitfire.

Cheers
Andre

Hi,
Looks good!
What is the reason you went to top mounted front wing?
Greetings,
Jaros

Hi Jaros,

The target of mounting the front wing on the top of the fuselage is to reduce the drag of the Fuselage/wing connexion.
In fact it drives to a better waterflow on the most important side of the wing: the extrados.
This can be achieve only with very strong wings as G10 wings because the screws had more load. With G10 it works perfectly
We are starting the first shipments of blaster hydrofoils end of the week.

Regards

Nicolas

Hi Nicolas,

The blaster is a front foot pressure ride, compared to the spitfire xlw, that would be more traditional board set up. How else do they differ?

For that once in a lifetime purchase, would you go xlw or blaster (needs: not to fast, mushy chop and wind blown breaking wave riding, also low wind 8-12knts)?

Thanks,

Mike

Dear Mike,

thank you for your interesting question.
Both foils are designed for a maximum of fun and for freeride.
One is designed with an innovative architecture (the spitfire) and the other is more conventionnal with AVS which with I love to ride trying to have the wing tip off the water.

The choice depends on you.
If you are looking for a foil with a conventional feeling, turning fast, super stable and very fun to ride at a super affordable price: choose the blaster.
If you are in love with a carving with a surf feeling, go for the spitfire.

Low end of the 2 foils is similar

Both are bombproof thanks to the G10 wings

Ride easy
Nicolas

@Zeeko

comparing spitfire (XLW I think? or no?) and blaster you wrote:

Does this suggest the Blaster requires more power to start than Carver?

I think it has been said, the Carver starts a little before the spit xlw.
But the Blaster wing is bigger (barely, 40cm^2) than the Carver. Still curious.

Also curious on 2 other things with Blaster:
Weight?
Rigidity of mast/fuse connection and ability to support any bigger wings in future. I had a dream of a flat AVS wing 900-1200cm^2

And another wing out soon to cause more dilemmas: spit XXLW.

So many options, I know only that my spots are shallow, and I want a strong 70-80cm mast that can hold a bunch of different wings, mainly 700cm^2 or bigger.

I like that you make a lot of options that are good and not the most expensive to try, but I hope some compatibility of parts will remain.

Only took a few years for plate mount width to standardize.

"IF" compatibility is a goal, mounting wings like the Blaster makes some sense. Fuse running along the bottom flat side of the profile.

Need to be pretty strong, but a top of fuse, flat mount with standard spacing holes would be nice and simple.
