After 15 years kiteboarding on twin tips, surfboards, wakeskates, paipos... I borrowed my friend's foil.

I spent an hour wrestling the foil and beating myself up just trying to water start. I managed some surface riding.

I ended up a half mile upwind and had to walk downwind with my gear for the first time in my life.

I ordered a foil the next day...

1) Kiting in 10-15mph winds and having a blast!

2) The feeling of riding deep powder but in boardshorts!

3) New challenge and great for exploration at high speed
