Andersson Foils Bi-Directional Test ride video.

So here is a short clip of Dan Andersson doing a test ride on the "Skate Twin" by Andersson foils. This is raw footage and the camera is a little shaky sorry about that. I have tried this foil as well and it truly rips both ways. Its just a super fun Bi-Directional Twin Tip free riding foil

Full disclosure, I'm generally skeptical of twintip foils. I think doing a smooth foiling transition or carve is the best part of foiling.

Are you able to do foiling transitions on it? Past twin tip foils seemed to have been able to. Looks difficult to get going after the transitions.

Seems like you have to lean way back to keep the nose up after the transitions. Could just be due to the small board though.

At $450 though, that's an insanely good price. Whether or not there are any benefits to the twintip foil, I'm sure you'll have a lot of people interested.

Yeah when I tried the foil it had that tiny wake skate on it and I tended to sink down during the transitions but I got used to it more and more as I went on. I had to lean on my back foot during the water start to get the tiny front of the board out of the water. Im just not used to a small board like that. If I had a bigger regular size twin tip it would have been no problem. The foil rips and is very stable though. Once up and riding it has front foot pressure like a regular foil both directions. I think its a cool concept to be able to stick a foil in the middle of your twin tip and go ripping just like you would on the twin tip. I mean directional foils and boards are great but there is a reason most kiters like twin tips.

Is there a possibility of a more manly transition that the plop back in the water and water start again?
Its a deal breaker for me if the gay water start transition isnt sorted. Is there a possibility of a slide transition? maybe jump transition?

What is fun about it? Can't see it from the video. How does it ride toeside? Turns? I understand the attraction to TT riders who did not make a decent jibe in their lifetime, but IMO if you want to play you need to be able to turn. Sharper the better

It could become quickly boring, especially also with general performance expected to be bellow traditional foils.

If it allows more people to try foiling by being cheaper and easier to learn, great. Once you have learnt the basics you can move onto a directional foil for carving turns and transitions.
I think the upfront cost of foils hold a lot of people back from trying it, more shops might be willing to offer demos to beginners and maybe lessons behind a boat using these.

Yeah Dan is working on a more comprehensive video with more action/tricks. This one was just an early test clip that I posted to show that the foil works great going both ways. Dan sent me that clip a while back.
