90X140 to 90X165 Adapter?

Postby tswierkocki » Tue Apr 24, 2018 2:48 am

Does anyone know of a company who sells an adapter to mount a foil with 90X140 hole spacing on a board with 90X165 insert spacing?

Has anyone built an adapter? Recommendations?

I'd rather not add additional inserts to my board.

I did for my Nobile split board. I used fish board in 1/2 inch and drilled to mount on the 165/90 to the Nobile board. I then recessed stainless t-nuts for the rear 140 (liquid force) into the fish board. I shaped the fish board to a point in the front to reduce drag. it only has 6 holes. The front holes go through the mast plate/fishboard to the board. The rear mast plate mounts to the fish board. The rear fish board is mounted to the board. It worked fine. In the end I decided to recess stainless t-nuts into the board and it was super easy and worked great. This was a travel board and the plate was just another piece to lug along. After learning how easy it was I've converted several surf board and, better yet, skim boards into foil boards.

For that you should should be able to make your own adapter pretty easily. Not sure if anyone has a ready made one, as 140x90 is a super strange spacing. But basically you can make a simple adapter with 8mm Alu or steel block and a decent drill.

I just ordered a Zeeko Spitfire. Curious if the mounting plate will work with the Nobile split board. Any feedback?

I have the Nobile Skim Foil board and the Spitfire and they mate perfectly. You should not have any issues mounting the Spitfire on the Nobile split foil.

I'm looking into a Cloud 9 foil for kite/surf/SUP that I want to be able to mount on my Nobile Skim Foil.
