Realistically

The entire time that kite has been out of the Olympic picture sailing clubs have had no reason to get involved with the off exception.

Now that it is included and WS has it under thier wing there will be a bigger take up, (where appropriate) as simply the NGB (RYA) in outmr case will simply have to get involved as they look after the Olympic classes and now have been tasked to do the same, will that mean working with the BKSA or private individuals who have developed youth programs? Probably.

Does it mean that accidents and procedure will actually get monitored and responsibility have to be taken? Certainly.

One thing is clear, it’s not going to be plain sailing (sorry) money, ego and opinion will all see to that.

Kiting is not finalised as being included in the olympics.

There is the $ link right there... IKA is that private company its company bank account called the "Windsurfing International Association".

I can understand why sailors/ sailing clubs are pissed off with World Sailing. 23 000 people petitioned that kiting should govern itself now, and not World Sailing.

https://www.change.org/p/world-sailing- ... -our-sport

A lot of us never wanted authoritarians trying to control our kiting, but forced to look after our own sport and maintain control outside of our self regulation and self organisation we had going ( it worked well) it is good the IFKO takes a stand.

By kiters for kiters. Sailing organisations and sailing clubs stick to your grass roots, tell World Sailing that you will not be bullied around as you are right now.

You got to have reasons why? Because of how it. Turned last time? The brand power in play and what there is to lose/gain by stopping foiling?
