This popped up, and I haven't seen mention of it in the forum yet:

Last week, Anglet, France, on the beautiful Atlantic coast not far from Hossegor, banned the use of hydrofoils along all five kilometers of its delicious beaches. It is the first such ban in France
Sounds like a surfer squabble, more to do with Surf/SUP HF, but the restrictions would seem to prohibit KBHF equally. Hopefully no big loss for the local kiters...

These are some of the anglet beaches, prime swimming and sun bathing in summer.
When I go to the beach, I avoid these scenes whether "banned" or not and find quieter spots...
So I would say hopefully this is not a big deal.

I agree. BUT maybe only for certain summer months and ,or have a small kite zone if space allows.
Easy to see that there are to many people at least in the photos shown at that time.
Sorry but a few kiters as compaired to loads of beach goers, simply need to find another place!
On, side on wind, line breaks, kite loops onto beach!!!!!
A swimmer maybe out far from the beach not seen by a fast KBHF pilot, collision, who looses?
