They are awesome notwithstanding the fact that they are unresponsive. Light weight, very comfortable. Quality lenses. But I must say the Lip-Typhoon glasses are very well made. If I had one gripe it is that they are heavier than the Kurtis goggles. But other than that, Lip’s lenses are actually better quality. But also costly.
Do you know why the Typhoons are $218 and the Surges are $99? I mean, what gives?

Mossy- it has to do with the lenses. The Typhoons have the Zeiss lenses. Zeiss is a premium lense manufacturer for eyeglasses and cameras (like the Ferrari for lenses). I am sure the LIP reps can articulate the difference if you called them. I guess all of us will have to decide if Zeiss is worth another $100+. For me, I want the best when it comes to eyesight on the water. So worth it to me..

The Typhoons have Zeiss lenses with Tri-Pel coatings. Links are below.
I don't know if the Typhoons are better than the Surge. I wasn't about to buy both to find out. I read a rave review about the Typhoons. I took a punt and bought them. Was impressed but not blown away when I got them. Kept using them, now I use them all the time.
Simple thing is, they work. All the time. I don't really care what they cost as long as they work.
Other glasses, including the Kurtis work some of the time, but not all of the time. The Typhoons at their worst are at least as good as all the others at their best.

Issue I have had with anything with frames that are close to the face is fogging and the fact you see the frames in your line of sight. The kurtis are a like a layer of lens (no visible frame) and they have small foam pads that are like stand offs from your face shape...so the air just flows and no fogging.

All right....I am in for trying Typhoons...the venting makes sense. But man, throw in a second lens color and its spendy once converted to CDN ! Oh well, you only get one set of balls.

Chuck- I just bought the RX version that has photo chromatic lenses(they get darker or lighter depending upon the outside light situation). In Texas we often get windy weather with cloud cover but there is still a glare on the water if that makes sense. The RX version is around $400. Again, worth it for me to not have to yank the glasses off while kiting because I can’t see.

Damn, that would be great....I hate dark glasses in the shade...we get similar. Maybe I should have ordered that version.

I had bought a second set of the blue lenses to swap out due to this....makes more sense to do what you did! I have messaged them to see if I can change my purchase.
