Foil position on track

I am riding a GW 101 with 590 wing on a lf galaxy board.

I have the foil about 4 cm fro the back of the track.

I know this could be a long discussion, but in general, what is the benefit to moving the track all the way forward? Is it just for moving foot position forward?

Short answer: YES

It is just for moving your feet position.

Or, if you got fixed straps, to get more or less pressure on either the front or rear foot.

One always recommend beginners to have the mast rear, so the board tend to stay on the water itself, instead of popping up leading to an uncontrolled crash.

When you have learned, you will usually want the trim to be either balanced, or some even with a tad front foot pressure if straps.

Why front foot pressure?

Because, it is easy to control when both feet in the straps, if you need a bit of pressure on the front (or lift on the rear) foot.
And when putting the rear foot in front of the strap, you can still ride and carve around without the need of loads of pressure on the rear foot, to keep foiling in turns

Strapless it doesnt mean anything if track is forward or not, well, at least not anything noticeable unless you got a supershort board.
