Moses - 683 vs 683S wings

Postby grigorib » Thu Aug 30, 2018 12:10 am

I’ve had major fun this year on 633 and 590 wings.
Looking for a wing larger that 590 but smaller than 633 I think I should give a try to 683 wing. It matches same 749 fuselage I have for 633 and it’d be a sweet in-between setup I hope.

Now I see there are 683 and 683S wings out there
683S is for 749 fuselage and has a short “tail”
683 seems to be for windsurf fuselage
Same wingspan but what is the difference between those two wings? Is it profile? Is it compatibility?

You may find what you are looking for with the 683S.
683 and 683S do not fit the same fuselage (screws spacing is different):

683 is for the windsurf fuselage on the right in the picture.
683S is for the SUP/surf/Onda kite fuselage in the middle in the picture.
(Regular kite fuselage on the left in the pic.)

Thank you Frank!

Do you think there’s a way to mount 683 (windsurf) to regular 647 kite fuselage? It looks like hole spacing might work...

I am not sure how you see that in the pic...
No way. Tha 647 is the one on the left.
All three fuselages have different hole spacings.

It seems that 647 two outer holes (excluding the middle) are about same distance from each other as two front holes on windsurf fuselage. So if there’s a way to mount the 683 (windsurf) wing onto 647 fuselage without major mods it would be a pretty sweet option

Now I see where you are coming from...
I think I did post the spacing measurements of all fuselages in the Moses 2018 thread before, maybe you can find it there.
I do not have a windsurf fuselage here at the moment to check.
But anyways, I am sure there are home made solutions for almost anything, but in this case it won't be something to be recommended, there are pretty high loads on these things.

Cheers,
Frank

A friend measured it for us, the spacings you are referring to are 60mm on kite fuselage and 65mm on windsurf.
