Half a Zeeko windfoil = Spitfire monofoil

First of all I would like to apologize to Horst Sergio for a new monofoil thread. Thats my way of lobbying for the care hydrodynamic engineers should take about monofoil proffesional adaptation for ordinary kiters. As Horst presented already, mono has many advantages:
safety, price, simplicity, weight, agility, light wind and boosting potential to name only a few.


I’m turning 65 by the end of the year, I’m a living example mono is here to stay. Below movie presents my first ride on above setup. My first 500m.

Any medium advanced foiler can do the same or better.
And I made this setup from scratch 3 hours ago. From ready to use parts of new Zeeko windfoil.
If Nicolas would take the same care about this project, as for Spitfire, we could have a new, agile toy even easier to ride.
I ask you, fellow hydrofoilers, to vote for mono.
The project is at least as ambitious and perspective as Spitfire. Just right for Nicolas potential.
Nicolas, I dream to boost on mono as I do now with Spitfire, only higher. We need to ride it a bit faster.

Its not known for its high pitch stability relative to others on the market to begin with....

Mast should go some 10cm forward.
I drilled additional hole in back Spitfire XXL wing and bolted it directly to mast. Fitted well.
Most wanted is a foil with COP travel forward at lower AoA. That will prevent diving at higher speeds.
There are a few such an airfoil profiles (ie CJ4), but hydrofoil may be another story.

Thanks for the feedback. When you tried various wings behind a boat, you preferred the Carver wing. Why are you choosing the Spitfire rear wing for mono?
The rear wing of the Spitfire may be quite similar in characteristics to a regular kitefoil front wing.

And interesting to see it is possible to have the strut so much forward nearly above the wing, but I would expect behaviour to be better with more yaw damping, or what was your feeling in comparision with the other monos you tested?
If you can use the boat again, it could be interesting to use a spring balance to compare the load with and without stabi, maybe also at different speeds.

You mention that you are using parts from the XXLW Windfoil. I have only seen the Surf and Sup version of the XXLW released and thought the Windfoil was still being developed?

The Spitfire Windfoil XXLW is with 90cm mast.
With a clear no jumping directive from Zeeko.

Mine is on its way, and while I expect it to be slower and draggy-er than a normal Windfoil. It will be great to try with a board that will allow also Sup and Surf foiling wit same kit.

I’m not sure if there is a specific Spitfire Windfoil in planning but I’m going with what’s there.
