Off the board, every time due to space in the car. Foil is malleted off the mast when I get home, as the Lift foil retains water between them. Yes, I do grease my bolts but having them just sit in salt water seems bad.

Foil off the board (4 short bolts with a screw driver) and fuse off the mast (two M8 bolts with an allen key).

Both parts go into foil bags and it all packs nicely into the car/house

I get that people want to save time. Would be lovely to have a tool-less snap together system, but I can't say my life is all that bad with the set up I have. I do it so often, its routine and realistically only takes a couple min. As in two! I'd say about half of kiters I see wherever I go, take a small eternity to rig and pack up not because of their gear, but because their social/undecided/inexperienced. To be honest, I'm more than happy with how quickly my kit goes together, and kinda thrilled with how small it packs.

I have an alloy foil, but live on fresh water. For the first year I would disassemble entirely every couple weeks. Total overkill as the threads were always nicely gooped. Began to worry about wearing out the hardware so the second year I only did it once, mid season. Still loads of goop. This year I just backed the bolts off a half turn and then snugged em back up. Do a complete disassemble with storage in its case for winter and the threads will get a fresh coat of tef gel next spring. I get that it's different for those in salt water.

Nice, that's commitment.

Was thinking about it and, one thing I kinda like about how my foil breaks down is that it has flat wings. Thin pocket board, mast and foil stack so flat it would fit between the seats of a Ferrari. I should get one.

Should be getting my Moses T38 any day now so excite :baby:
Never take out my boards/foil/pump just my kite and bar not good for kite to leave in...and the foil in back keeps me from drifting which I shouldn’t be doing anyways
Plus I can fit all the gear I have in my car plus some of my bros...had no interior for couple years keeps low mileage not giving ppl rides..lol

I like deep tuttle fittings for the same reason. My masts and foils slide into the back of my car and stack on top, or under, the kites, wetsuit tub etc. I would be sad if my foil maker moved to plate mounts.

I get that, but you'd survive! Besides, tuttle requires a thicker board. Thin low rocker board then mast then flat wing foil stacks about the depth of the plate width. Lies pretty flat in the bottom of the roof box. Way lower profile than a surfboard with fins. I'd bet its less than a tuttle board, mast and wing with any significant an/diherdral. Whatevs, as long as you get it to the water!

My 42” Dwarfcraft fits well on the width into the car so no disassembly needed.

I always take the foil off the board. So easy with the abracadabra system from Naish.
