Investigating a family vacation to Atlantis resort in Bahamas with wife and daughter in February 2019. There seems to be no recent information on kiting let alone foiling options. Does anyone have direct experience staying at Atlantis and foiling on the island at that time of year?
Are there better options in the Caribbean that provides a nice resort feel for the non-kiters and has, ideally, foiling options directly off the beach or nearby?
I'm sure there are many of you who have similar situations that have great destination suggestions.
Cheers,

I am at Atlantis now and the wind sucks ass..
but maybe it's different in February...
To answer your question... you can kite/foil on anything north although swell can be intimidating (to enter with foil) on direct north wind. The lifeguards will not give you any trouble if you try to stay away from beach goers and don't make an ass of yourself..
E/W can be sketchy for lightwind foiling as wind is not steady enough and if you drop the kite under 10kts it could be long swim.
And south is super sketchy.. There is a small beach on the south facing side of paradise island next to tennis courts.
You can launch from there and it gets deep after 20 feet.. but the winds are usually gusty, coming from the main island.. and the channel is pretty busy with power boats with clueless captains, who never seen kiters before. Super sketchy but doable:
I had bad experience with South beach at Nassau... The forecast was ok (15-20kts S), the airport meter was showing 14kts all day and it seemed windy at Atlantis, but there was no wind at the south side of Nassau for some reason.. Besides the South Beach does not seem like a good choice for foiling as it's pretty shallow for at least half a mile (maybe more??)...
Don't count on the east facing beaches on Paradise island - they are private property and are off limits..
And one last thing, if you never been to Atlantis - dining is super expensive there.. prepare to spend $400-$500 (on family of 4) on food and drinks daily or eat junk food... cheapest beer on the resort will cost you $9-10 and a decent dinner for 2 - $300 easy...
