I am looking for a good foil set up favoring down wind riding in 12-22 knots of wind. Above that I will be riding TT.
I learned on a LF rocket fish which I still ride and know anything will be an upgrade from this set up. I am 72 Kg.
Down wind riding in swell is where I find my smiles.
I will be back in a location this winter with almost ideal down wind riding conditions, consistent side shore wind and swell and a 10 km beach area to land safely.
For foils I been leaning towards the Lift 170 Fish. I know that the Moses 633 is considered an outstanding foil but hear the Lift 170 may edge out it out for waves.
Also thinking about going with a 80 cm strut. Longer struts are without question the best option for upwind. I really don't mind riding a little flatter and just cruising over the waves upwind, if I pick up some advantage going down wind.
For boards either Kanaha Shapes or Groove skate. Depends on availability, knowing they are in demand, I may have to pick up something else.
Any thoughts and experiences on options that can handle extended down wind rides would be appreciated. Not interested in race equipment and foils.
