I'm new to foil kites and purchased a 21m Speed 5. When setting up the kite to get ready for its maiden flight, I was perplexed in attaching the flying lines to the bridle. On the bridle the loops have a metal ring. I attached the flying lines to the bridle by making a larkshead loop on the flying line and putting over the metal ring. It seems to be secure, but on all the other kites I have owned, the larkshead loop is placed over a knot on the bridle line. Putting over the metal ring just does not seem as secure. Is this the correct way of attaching the flying lines to the bridle on the Speed 5?
It's a cool system because it allows you to use any bar with equal length lines regardless of whether it has knots or loops on the center/rear lines. You can also feed the bridle connector through the little metal ring on Flysurfers and use the ring to create a lark's head, just as reliable a connection.
