By the By... Sonic FR2 vs existing Sonic FR1. I have a quiver of FR1's and I could not imagine them getting any better! Awesome kites!

the sonic 2 will have very noticable performance improvements over sonic
more user friendly
more stable tips
more power/depower
easier to fly/smoother
lighter
more expensive.....but cheaper than competition
more durable top lotus cloth and leading edge.

sizes 6 9 11 13 15 18

Which forum did you get this info from? Absolutely love my 18 but my 11 has been a bitch since day 1. More stable tips greatly interests me since what was my constant problem with the 11. I wonder if they will pack down smaller due to the lotus fabric. Still no warranty on them? Sucks to see my current Sonics devalue so quickly with this upgrade. FS usually waits a couple years to update.

Yes, in principle more or less right correction, but very difficult to believe that 2mm correction would do anything. Certainly there is bigger tolerances in line lenghts between line rows and they shrink some cms very easily, and unfortunately not evenly by line rows. If kite is more used some line lenght checks (bridles, mixer) should be done first.

But there is some tendency to fold wingtips in sonic, even though kite is new.

If wingtips do their tricks best try is to adjust them a bit higher AoA and/or decrease camber in that area. Lines A III, B III, C III and BR III are the ones to check/adjust. Quick fix might be to stretch A III. Adjusting whole kite there is a risk to decrease the performance of the kite. On the other hand, wingtips have a short chord, so there even small adjustments have an effect.
