Anyone else have this problem? Or better yet, a solution? No matter how much I pre-inflate my 9m Speed5, it launches with both wings tucked toward the centre of the kite, and fly like that for a good 3-4 minutes before something happens (still haven't been able to figure out what) and it pops fully open. It's not a safety problem, just a pain having to stand on the beach flying the kite until it opens up (especially if it's a busy spot).
Never had this happen on my Speed 2, 3, or 4. Just the 5.
Any ideas?

Hi. This relates to the internal pressure of the kite. Like the Sonics, the Speed 5's need more pressure than the previous models. It sounds like you need to actively backstall the kite more when launching / inflating. Armin made a point of showing us this during the dealer conference - Just pull on the steering lines equally once the kite is airborne to keep the kite inflating and stop it flying up to 12. The wingtips will pop out when the kite has reached sufficient pressure and you can then go kiting.

You have to kind of stall the kite on its way up during launch by pulling and releasing the back lines aggressively until the kite is mostly open. this will force the kite to open up and get air in. its very easy actually. the kite wont inflate on its own because there are valves that slow the rate of air going in and out of the kite. preinflating helps but is not necessary and mostly for for light wind days.also i like to stick my hands in the leading edge vents before a launch to make sure thyre all open because they may be stuck after the kite has been stored for a while. flysurfer has a video on YouTube on launching their kites u should check them out.

As the others say, pull the backlines!
Here you can see why the speed5 needs a little bit more time to let the air in and out!?!
