I'm new to foils, only 4 sessions on my Hyperlink 9m UL. But have fallen in love with the no fluttering, fantastic drift and smooth seamless power.
Im Hydrofoiling only on foil kites, and strapless . No jumps. (Have lei kites for waves on surfboard.)
Now I'm looking for a kite that will complement my quiver. I have had Hyperlink out in up to 15 knots with no problems.
My options are Hyperlink 7 ( too close?), Hyperlink 5 (too far?)
Or Concept wave 6,5 or 4,5
Or Concept Pulsion 3,7?
I would like the kite to work well from 15 knots. I will not foil in over 25 knots.
I'm 75kg dry.

I am not hydrofoiling so difficult to say. I know that with 4.5 some riders go as low as 15 knots wind, which is my low low end with the 6.5 on a strapless surf board with some volume (I am 63 kg) but I think I am ok with 18 knots (up to 30 knots with 30+ gusts).

I had some other sessions with 4.5. A very good one two weeks ago with some pretty good waves (overhead) and good on-shore wind (25 knots+). The Wave 4.5 is really a very good wave kite, it opens new horizons. There is no need to move the kite all around while surfing ... I can even put it on one side of the wind window and it goes backward while I surf towards it (onshore waves). This is really something else, and not only for hydrofoiling in waves, all the focus can be on wave riding by using less and less the kite. Now surfing without kites and kite surfing with the Concept Air Waves is more and more similar. Learning in one activity benefits the other activity (and vice versa).

Now some tubes guys come to discuss the possibility of having a quiver (in particular for travelling) with a surf board + surfoil + 1 or 2 CA Wave to surf / surf foil / hydrofoil with a kite / kite surf with the surfboard without foil. They think that they can cover it all with the quiver.

Benoît is still working on the development of the Waves, they improved along the way with all the feedbacks that he receives and now there are very good hydrofoilers using them in waves as well. He has a good panel of opinions.

Thanks Stef,

INDEED, I'm thinking I could get away with my Hyperlink 9m UL and CA 6,5m As travel quiver.
I'm in the process of making a split surfboard /hydrofoil board.

Still appreciate if anyone can give me real life feedback on Hydrofoil range of 6,5.

Hi

I'll get mine soon (6.5). Unfortunatelly I'm not able to give it a ride before 2nd half of June, but I'll let you know.
Actually I'm foiling with a Reo 10 and 7 covering a range from 9/10knots up to 20. (20 is not the lowend but the Reo 7 is the 2014 model (or older) and is a beast. Don't like it very much. The powerpeak comes suddenly and fast. No linea power. So in upper range a lot of times the kite pulls me up and off the board in a second. I'm 107kg))
I will post here.

Have fun

Carsten

They look nice and understated with that color scheme. Any updates to the design?

Benoît has worked mainly on internal construction, 3m and 4.5 are now final. He told me he has some ideas for the 6.5 but he is now working on a new model Pulsion Sport 12m:

... but I am pushing hard for the waves :-) We also need a 8.5 ... because surfing is what matters ...

Hi,

I had a great day with the CA Waves the other day. First full power on the 4.5 for 2 hours then a 2 hour downwinder on the 6.5.
This is from the downwinder:
