I recently bought a 21m Speed 5 (first foil kite) and am still getting used to it after only 5 riding sessions. I am 90kg and am able to stay upwind on a 135x46 TT in 8 knots without the 6 m extensions. The last time out I found the sweet spot for 8 knots and was fully powered in 10. Once I get proficient I will add the extensions to see how much it increases the low end. Also I have ridden in 14-18 knots but it was a bit scary in the gusts. Reminded me of my early days on a 21.5 m Cabrinha Blacktip C kite. When the wind is 13 knots or more I switch to my LEIs.
Also Ted was very responsive to my inquiry and gave me a fantastic deal.

Hey Jake,
The 21m Speed 5 should be just fine for a guy your size in 14 to 18 knots once you get used to it. When you get hit by a big gust, just send it! :thumb

My experiance is that an 18m Speed 5 have les power and upwind ability then the 18m Sonic 2. So I would really choose the Sonic 2. If you want approximate the same low-end you would have to choose the 21m Speed 5.
I have flown the 18m & 21m Speed 5 and I have now the Sonic 2 18m.
