What tips would you give to somebody experienced in LEI but new to foils?
There are some nice tutorials online from Ozone & Flysurfer.
I had my first experience recently.
Launching is quite tricky and unfortunately a second person can't help a lot...
Tried 45deg to the wind in relatively light wind and have the impression that a downwind launch although more dangerous would be easier, especially in light wind. I think that next time I will try a downwind launch while I'm in deep water (for safety).
Landing at the edge of the window with a well briefed assistant was quite straightforward.
My tip/finding as a beginner (to a beginner) is that foils get more stable with increased back lines tension. i.e. don't trim too much and if you feel the kite is about to collapse, pull in the bar.
