I am talking about Hydrofoiling now, I'm 75 kg naked. But kiting in 3-2 fullsuit, booties, gloves impact vest, helmet. I'm probably 85 kg loaded.
On moses fluente 590 wing.
I was out today again in 10-12 knots on 25 m lines on 9m Hyperlink UL.
Others were on 17 m kites on surfboard, skims and big tts plowing.
I was perfectly powered.
A friend I am coaching to learn Hf on Lf Fish is on 12m Mono. He's just started to fly, but he's sining and having a bit of low end trouble but still manages to get flying.
I have Only 3 sessions so far on HL.
But based on this, yes 9m Hyperlink UL is replacing my 12 and 9 Mono.
If you are 85+kg, I would get 12 Hyperlink or 12 soul.
In my region, winds are super flucky and unpredictable under 10 knots. Can be 4-10 knots. Then next wind is 10-14. So 9 is working well so far.
I think I will start to hunger for more low wind power and want to have 13m Chrono 3 on short lines.
And now I am so in love with smooth power I am thinking of a 7m Hyperlink..
Today wind died and kite dropped in water and I was in 100cm water. It tacos, and rolls. I'm ready for sea anchor...? Wind came back a bit, kite fills and is le down. so I tried reverse launch. It was so easy. Kite lifts off water with pull on rear lines very easy.
Lei would not have launched...
I Edit: dealer and other experts told me 9m Hyperlink will be Mono 12 replacement. I was very sceptical. It seems they were right, but so far, I think it is slightly less power. If they made a 10m it would be perfect replacement... But with skill and long lines 9m is same. It has way higher top end, and is super smooth compared.
I will not go back to lei for foiling unless a lot of wind.
