Infinity 3 bar for Soul 15

Postby madmax7 » Thu Nov 08, 2018 4:56 pm

I have a choice of Cleat or Pull trim for Infinity 3 bar for Soul 15M

I herd issues with Cleat adjuster

WHat do you guys suggest?

Thanks Max

My preference is always trim strap for recreational riding. I usually don't touch depower during my sessions because with foil kite there is no need.

On my other Ozone bar clam cleat eats line and gets stuck when heavy kiter boosts.

I used both. No issues with the clam cleat bar, neither the strap sytem. Lately I prefer the clam cleat for unhooking as I can do the full depowering and full powering very fast with the clam cleat. When you powering back with the strap sytem it is more like a step by step approach. You can power back the 1/3 of the full range with one pull. I use the 60 cm bar for the 15 M Soul.

Clam cleat is simpler, tidier, lighter, easier to use and more reliable.

I used to have those horrible strap things: they slipped, ate straps (even to the snapping) and when depowered free strap end was a nuisance. (Yep, it was longer, even much longer than a clam cleat system free end, and bulkier). In a fast situation there was always a possibility to pull wrong strap end.

I've never heard clam cleat can get stuck. There is wedge type jaws inside of it, it always releases when free end is pulled.

I’ve had both and I prefer the CC even though I’ve had some issues. Rumor has it, the 4.0 bar is coming very soon so if you can wait, I’m guessing around January we will hear of it. If not, you can’t go wrong with the CC. Cleaner setup, easier to adjust your trim. Just ask to have the stopper ball installed before you get it because you’ll want it with the Soul and it’s kind of a butch to do yourself(but still doable).

So the bar for the 15 M, I am getting conflicting advise... Get the 50 cm or the 60cm?

Thanks for input

Do the 60. Easy choice.
