Use vacuum storage bags for vac bagging

Postby faklord » Thu Oct 13, 2016 8:43 pm

Posted this up on the Board Builders forum but its probably even more relevant to smaller hydrofoil parts:

....... I have had good success using Vac storage bags for vac bagging.
The largest I have found are 180 x 110cm (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00 ... Q2RSPVITY6)
That's big enough for a smallish surf board or massive TT....but there are loads of different smaller sizes
Had to make a little adapter for my vac setup but that was easy enough. I turned one out of nylon but a correctly sized rubber bung should do it.

Advantages:
1) Re usable. Saves on all that tack tape etc.
2) Reliable seal every time...wooo hooo!
3) Easy to quickly open and correct something inside if something isn't quite right.
4) Can use vac cleaner to quickly pull out volume, then switch to vac pump to pull down to low pressure.
