Acetal? Difficult stuff to bond well. Have you found a trick?

I have never done anything other than rough it up . . . never had a bonding issue.

Have used it like this before in a surfboard conversion and no problems. It is brilliant stuff to machine.

Finally got a chance to glass the top this arve. Been no wind at all for over a week :( unless you have an 18m foil kite and even then, one of those guys got to swim in.

Top glass schedule:
2 x 6 onz and a small patch of 4onz over the strut attachment points. Was going to go a full extra layer of 4 onz but decided not to bother.
The 2 layers of 6 onz wrap down the rails. From memory, there is a 4onz and a 6 onz under the wood so it should be strong enough.

A few pics:

The wood looks nice once the resin gets on it.

Almost three weeks of super light breezes under 10 knots :(

The board has had the weave filled and still needs finishing however I drilled the mounting holes for the strut today and mounted the foil to see how it looks.

Will probably test on the water before giving it a nice smooth sanded finish with some graphics.

Thanks Starsky. Weighed it tonight . . . 2.42kg on its own. Some EVA pads bring it up to 2.6kg.

Zeeko alloy foil and carver wing would weigh in at 4kg for sure . . . have not actually weighed them but will next time I remove it from the board.

Just need some wind to test it out now.
