Is that a really good paint job or is your mast wood?

I suspect you may have added an aluminium core or something.


And seriously, is that a leash attachment on the nose of your board?? :roll:

Nice. Very clean. I too assume you have some reinforcement In the mast. If not it will be too flexi and potentially break.

The strut core is carbon fiber construction which is finished with 0.2mm real wood veneer. I sealed the wood with carbosil filler mixed with epoxy. The wood is just cosmetic.

The leash plug at the front is for holding on to the board when body dragging out through waves and to attached the board to a leash if the kite goes down in light wind. Often the board will drift ahead when trying to relaunch and has the potential to get tangled in the lines. Also, having the board with you creates addition drag which helps in lightwind relaunch.
