It looks like normal SMC based on the new pictures released. Would be nice if they stated what matrix material they are using though.
Do not confuse it with forged carbon process by ACSL used in high-end cars and golf clubs.

It looks like there's some manufacturing/destructiblily issues with the new north foil. Saw this on facebook where a guy softly hit a sandbank on his first run. I don't know why they'd use that composite instead of a cnc'ed alu fuselage other than it's cheaper to pump a mold full of resin.

Yeah,

I guess a piece of wood would not break like that. Yeah, blame it to the resin formula at.al

Shame on you North.

Must have been a big hit or very low quality carbon work. The pull out force of those tapex type inserts if mounted correctly is very high.
Maybe the screws were also run too far in, but North could of course have a bottom hole that extends a fair bit beyond the insert.

Also the mounting screws could have been designed to be further apart: it looks like the distance between the first and the third hole is less than half of the wing chord length:

Wow...quite a blow for North....first the funky design with the rails (and of course killing the rebel) and now this.....from the vid it doesnt look like the area of contact is rather small compared to others...plus the winglets facing down doesnt help?
