How To Jump
Take off: the easiest way is to go fairly fast at 90° according to the wind, the kite positioned at half way of the wind window or a bit higher. Then take a good edge (on your heels) by quickly piloting the kite towards the top as described in figures 1 and 2. Stop edging when you feel that the kite is pulling you upwards.
Jump: right after the lift, look at your kite and put it back at 12 o'clock. Bend your legs to balance yourself once in the air and to avoid landing on your back.
Land: put the kite back at its initial position when you start coming back down. To help the landing, put your board downwind.
Safety Tips
- Never let go of the bar when you are in the air.
- Don't jump with onshore wind.
- Increase speed before take off, but not too much.
- If you sense that the landing is going to be rash, let go of the bar and place the kite at the top of the wind window.
- Wear a helmet and a vest.
