Hi there,
What does everyone think of second hand boards? I am a board designer, and am thinking of selling refurbished second hand boards, basically with a new abs layer, fins, pads etc. Just had alot of customers recently bring in cracked second hand boards etc.

Just wondering if this is a service that anyone would be interested in? If you could let me know that would be great. Thanks.

You mean board repair?
Sure, people like to get their boards repaired.
Whether it's worth it depends on the damage and the rider I guess.
Still not sure if I get your concept, but to my understanding the possibilities are either cosmetic repair/detailing, or structural repair.
Don't think many want a board that buckled and then got new top/bottom sheets to hide the destroyed core though.... used boards can be cheap enough....
You are probably a good guy who would do nothing shady,
but could the buyer tell, with new skins, what had happened before?
Would you guarantee the boards against breakage?
Would they be cheaper than regular used boards?

I think he intends to just give used boards a new look.

Why not give it a try. Just state what board and whats been done.

Or just offer the service and let ppl drop of their old heaps for a makeover.
Cheaper whay to test the market.

Giving a board a clean look for sale is done all the time.
People nowadays are much more lazy as regards to getting their hands messed up to clean, repair, refurbish boards. This leaves an opportunity for the tinker to find his niche.
